The “1st International Symposium on Engineering, Design, and Innovative Approaches” (ISEDIR 2024), hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Sinop University, brought the scientific community together online.

The symposium attracted great interest from scientists, representatives of public institutions and organizations, private sector officials, and students.

In the opening speech of the program, our university’s Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Rıza Bayrak, thanked the organizing committee and volunteers, saying, “This symposium provides an important platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration in the fields of engineering and design. I congratulate all our stakeholders who contributed to the organization and believe that the discussions and exchanges of ideas that will emerge here will benefit the sector.”

At the symposium, a total of 55 presentations were delivered orally, including 7 in Nuclear Energy Engineering, 7 in Environmental Engineering, 13 in Computer Engineering, 5 in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, 3 in Mechanical Engineering, 4 in Aerospace Engineering, 6 in Civil Engineering and Architecture, 4 in Energy Systems Engineering, and 6 in Fisheries Engineering, along with multidisciplinary studies. At ISEDIR 2024, scientists, representatives of public institutions and organizations, private sector representatives, and students came together to share knowledge, discuss problems, and present solutions.

All the papers presented at the symposium will be published in the “Abstract Book,” prepared in English. Additionally, participants who wish to publish their studies as articles were given the opportunity to submit their work to peer-reviewed journals within Sinop University.
